Atul Dodiya (b.1959) is one of the pioneers of Contemporary Indian Art. His references to popular culture, cinema and literature point to an underlying political analysis or commentary of the Indian middle-class and marginalized. Dodiya uses a broad-spectrum of media from his early photorealism to using actual objects incorporated into his work.
