Rameshwar Broota

Rameshwar Broota was born into a Kashmiri family in 1941. He has a Diploma in Painting from the College of Art, Delhi. Rameshwar is an artist who has evolved his own unique style and medium to express hauntingly powerful imageries. Broota creates surreal imageries of virile men, imaginary trees and abstract forms expressing a strange other worldy atmosphere. In curious ways, Broota’s images, are portrayed as: the artist as witness. They are almost memento mori an object for reflection in which we, although distanced from the subject, are nevertheless reflected.
