Description
”Response” ventured outside CIMA’s premises to the hauntingly beautiful setting of a derelict art deco cinema hall in Kolkata – Gem Cinema. With thirty-six artists from across India participating, the exhibition embraced the space’s unique character, allowing artworks to coexist and interact without physical divisions. The resulting experience was an amalgamation of colours, sounds, and imagination—a conversation that resonated with the viewers. The catalogue includes a compelling introductory essay titled ‘Screen Memory in a Ruined Cinema,’ by Aveek Sen, providing a broader backdrop to the project along with colour plates of the artworks.
